Now I’m going all out, kid.

If anything a true sneakerhead can recognize another without hesitation. A self-proclaimed one on the other hand might try to hate hard because their game is never and will never be on point like an OG sneaker connoisseur… EVER! This brings us to Kid Cudi whose style is fresh and clean. Nothing oversized. No ridiculous chains the size of some people’s faces. Scruffy is just not in the boy’s voacabulary to sum it up. With this Complex magazine has put together a photo essay documenting Cudi’s top footwear moments. To view this collective, click here.

After missing the live webcast of Marc Jacobs‘ collection and being mad at myself for several hours over it, I anxiously waited for pictures of the collection to go up. All the buzz that had been tweeted and statused mentioned the intro which was a reveal of 56 models stashed away in a wooden box that the designer, Marc Jacobs, tore open unveiling his entire collection. Another notable fact is that the celebrities that frequent his show were nowhere in sight this time around which was a refreshing note from the norm. The collection is very soft in mellow tones of brown, gray and black with a touch of blue, yellow, silver and pearl. It was very refined and gentle but still made an impact. One thing I hope is that some of the A-line dresses once retailed, are cut a little higher because well.. everyone is not a 5’9 model with legs for miles including me. It was hard choosing my top 8 looks so I opted for 12 instead. Click the following to have a look at the entire collection.

That was like ’95 but I’m STILL trippin’ over that!!

“Call Me” by Joell Ortiz ft. Novel. Directed by Rik Cordero.
Three/21 and Lush Life present the premiere of “Call Me”, Joell Ortiz’s latest single featuring Novel. The song and concept is about teenage love and heartbreak based in Williamsburg and South Side Brooklyn circa 1995. Now for all of you 90’s babies, this video will pretty much feel like a period piece since the height of Brooklyn in ’95 featured Smart Beepers, Eastland’s, Tommy shirts, Carhart jackets, Helly Hanson jackets, 5411’s, stretch pants, hoop earrings, scrunchies, etc.
Did you improve on a design? Did you do something new?

Boots, heels, flats and a pair of Spizikes or Dunks are what stay in my closet. Truthfully, I do not wear sneakers as much anymore, but Supra’s 2010 Spring Collection reminds me why I like sneakers again. Supra seems to have a never-ending supply of colorways at its disposal too. The most interesting thing would have to be the choice of prints chosen to mesh with the texture of the materials used. Here are the links to view part 1 and part 2 of the Shoes Master blog which had originally released the preview. (Note: The entire blog is in Japanese, but all images are there to view.)

Oh, Ms. Betsey Johnson. You never fail to impress. All the greatness that is Betsey Johnson strutted down the catwalk on Valentine’s Day showing off her wild wild west theme with a hint of Spanish matador, which I like a lot a LOT. Here are my favorite 8 out of the 52 looks that graced the runway. Click the following link to view the entire collection.
