Christian Siriano proved why he won Season 4 of Project Runway on Friday. He also proved that he does not lack celebrity friends either. In particular, Amber Rose became a star of the show as she was swarmed by paparazzi while there. Nevertheless, Siriano’s Fall 2010 ready to wear was astounding. There was leather, shimmer, draping and jewels. Favorite look probably had to be the metallic over-the-knee dress with sheer caplet sleeves. His red carpet looks were to die for!! I love the triangular neckpiece incorporated into one of them. The final piece, just WOW. Would have taken me 3 months to create such wonderfulness… with help from others haha. All 36 looks in the collection are shown below.

Flash the jewels ’cause that’s the rule

I have heard about Swarovski’s “CRYSTALLIZED Meets 12 Tokyo Brands” exhibition but had yet to see any part of it. Here is the first look at CRYSTALLIZED Skagway. Each sneaker was customized with two-tone Swarovski crystal stripes across the tongue, in three different color ups. From seeing this, I am going to look further into the exhibition.

And for your info, I’m sticking to my intro. Every day I’m hustling. Put that on ten toes.

Today we mourn the passing of the great Alexander McQueen. He took his own life and has left the fashion world in awe at 40 years of age. There will never be another like him. He has left a legacy behind. My regards go out to his family and friends who have also had to deal with the passing of McQueen’s mother last week.

Trancing like Beavis & Butthead

I’m 50/50 about the video myself. First off it reminds me of the trippy desert scene in Beavis & Butthead do America, then both the Ray Ban and Haviana flip-flop ads mixed with M.I.A.’s “Boyz” come to mind. The scene that throws me off most is the black and white one with the zebra at 2:25. In a way it reminds me of the lovely Kesh‘s t-shirts. Actually, if you know of Kesh then you might agree with me that her entire style is reflected in the video.

The thing that throws me off is well.. Russian Roulette is the album this single is coming off of and the theme of it is supposed to be dark. I blame Def Jam for their executive decision on the carrying forth of the music video. My mind is telling me they changed to something more lighthearted, bright and fun because Rihanna’s dark emo-ish vibe was not selling records.

Props still go out to Melina Matsoukas for directing and Rob Zangardi for styling an amazing music video.
