About Jackie

Given Name: Jacqueline Maybritt Janssen de Alfonso
Nicknames: Jackie, Jack, Jacques (pronounced like jax)

Hi. My name is Jacqueline. I prefer Jackie in almost every situation. 18 years of age with one extra year added every July 22nd. Currently reside in London, England in the UK and studying fashion. Proud to call Boston, Massachusetts my hometown. We can argue all day about politics, music, fashion, traffic or sports. In the end, to get my point across I will resort to dumping my cup of Dunkies all over you or your windshield! :)

Favorites… okay. When it comes to music, I listen to everything. Music artists that consistently stay in my Top 25 Most Played on my iTunes include a lot of Donna Summer, Bon Jovi, Trey Songz, Serani, Led Zepplin, Britney Spears, Vicente Fernández, Drake and Parliament. Mixtapes and independent artists dominate my overall song listing though. Fashion designers that I adore (past and present) are Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfield, Alexander McQueen, Betsey Johnson, Oscar de la Renta, Luella Bartley, Coco Chanel and Jimmy Choo. Stores I shop at… change. Let’s just say I do not like shopping where everyone else does and online shop because of it. And what makes me happy? Jolly Ranchers, chocolate and life. Those simple things will forever remain my favorite.

Let’s get to this biography-ish part…

I am one of three children, middle child to be exact. My family is pretty mixed and resides like everywhere. For the most part I am Guatemalan, Mexican, Dutch and Spanish. For the MOST PART. There are a bunch of other random countries thrown in the mix when you go digging through the family tree. When people ask though I usually reply with something around those four. I have loads of family in Guatemala, where my only known living grandparent lives. It’s in the countryside and peaceful. I LOVE going there. Sure, the only choice is a cold shower, the lights go out during bad storms, some lady we pay handwashes everyone’s clothes in the river and chickens go scurrying across the property but it is beautiful. Trust me. Simple things like that are amazing to go to every once in a while to clear the head, which is what my family does every year or two or four at most.

Growing up I was extremely quiet to the point my mother was worried for a bit that I was going to be mute! Made me laugh when she told me that. For a fact, all that happened growing up was a lot of observing and being creative. The first artwork I ever remember being proud of was a self portrait done with tempora paint, it really captured my essence at the age of 5 hahaha. I learned how to play some piano and the clarinet, dabbled with the guitar but could never stick to them. They were never my forté. Leave it to the experts. Oh and at the age of four or five, I tried experimenting in the art of hairstyling and FAILED! All that is left of that is the memory of 6 inches of my hair chopped off by myself and hidden behind a couch. Yeah, my parents found out. That hiding spot was never really good anyways. Make up and styling was something I also played with using my mother’s things but it was just a hobby. Most of it was experimental before the age of 10. Something I stuck to was fashion design. I have old binders and sketches that are stashed away to remind me where I started off.

My goal in life is to become somebody. And that’s it.
