Don’t wanna kiss, don’t wanna touch. Just smoke one cigarette and hush.

Teasers for Lady Gaga‘s new video “Alejandro” which was directed by world-renowed fashion photographer, Steven Klein, are dropping like F-Bombs in the 8 Mile movie! This needs to be released asap. It looks very 90s Madonna meets a Vogue photoshoot mixed with some Janet Jackson Control thrown in.

Not taking subliminally very lightly

The incredible Banksy is continuing his North American tour having popping up in Toronto, Seattle, Chicago and Detroit so far. For those who haven’t heard of him, he is a British graffiti artist who’s true identity is unknown. He has been creating freehand graffiti since the 90s around the world, using outdoor environments as his canvas and in particular utilizing walls in the streets to create powerful statements reflecting politics, culture and current events.

You sold your soul to the devil when you put on your first pair of Jimmy Choo’s, I saw it.

Shown above: “Anna Wintour – Single man in New York”

I’ve been discovering all of these wonderful blogs on blogspot and tumblr lately! This one I adore, Humor Chic by aleXsandro Palombo, in which he illustrates through portraits of current fashion, costume, culture, society and celebrity. This past week he has been doing “Toilet Very Chic”. He describes it as: “The fantastic heroines of Humor Chic whom we adore, love, hate, scorn and support are nearly ready to reveal themselves in their magnificent privacy… Instructions for use: We discourage anyone who is lacking in Humor Chic from viewing ‘Toilet very chic’.”

Top row of images from left to right: “Amy Astley – Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief …how to be forever young”, “Tom Ford – a true maniac…for details!”, “Jean Paul Gaultier – never without John Galliano“, “Tiger Woods and Betsey Johnson – a wonderful hole in one shot!”. Bottom row of images from left to right: “Linda Wells – Editor-in-Chief of Allure magazine…even on the throne…always with Allure!”, “Grace Coddington – Take me baby!”, “Marc Jacobs (shown) and Lorenzo Martone (not shown) – an excellent dose of beauty and physical activity”, “Suzy Menkes – fighting menopause”.

Stuck there, posted on a wall. City through my lense.

This piece excites me soooo much!! I can’t efficiently describe it with words. Basically, pieces like these challenge me to think more freely and not restrain myself to one medium. I have not done any pieces lately because well… fashion school IS fashion school. Everything I do there revolves around my pattern cutting, digital imaging, fashion illustration and textile classes. It all reverts back to me continuing with studying fashion design next year but with my spring break (which is ONE MONTH LONG!!) coming up I am going to try to attempt some pieces. Those primary skills in painting and drawing always need to be kept fine tuned when in art school, but I want to continue with doing so even after I am done with college.

Thank you Alberto “Sting” Russo, your portfolio has inspired me.

And cousin, business is A-Boomin’.

On February 18th, 2010 from 6p – 9p the world will get to preview and purchase the “Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds” at The Upper Playground Art Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. All proceeds from this program will be donated to The American Red Cross to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Each print will be numbered and signed by Quentin Tarantino. Only six (6) of each amount will be made. The prints can be viewed at http://www.upperplayground.com/inglouriousbasterds.php beginning Tuesday February 15, 2010.

If I was not in art school and did not have an endless amount of fabric, charcoal and paper to pay for I would dip into my pocket and purchase one, even at the steep price of $300. Sigh. To view all of the prints in this fabulous collection click here.
