Also, some people have asked me so here it goes. Yes, I had a wonderful 19th birthday! <3 No, I am not going to college this year but will continue into sophmore year next year. Yes, I do have a job now at H&M to be exact. No, I am not switching majors from Fashion Design to Graphic Design. Yes, I have been doing quite well in life. Couldn’t complain if I tried.

Sooo… there is a reason why Windows always loses. Like last night. My laptop decided to just NOT load Windows Vista at all and wanted me to reinstall the entire platform myself from a CD which I do not have. Well that or contact HP. But hey! There is this really funny thing to it – HP does not have any number listed anywhere on this laptop on any of the stickers, serials, nothing. And with no internet access because Windows would not even load to get this “magical HP contact number”, I had to reboot my laptop to its original factory settings and lose everything. Awesome. And with final submissions of work for my college in London this very week?! Yeah. It happened.

This means an all nighter for me to not only do corrections on one 15 page paper like I had written on the hard copy to merely correct in Microsoft Word, but I get the pleasure of retyping the entire thing including bibliography with some full website URLs and also having to find new pictures to replace those that I personally took and left on this laptop.

This means… everything is backed up now. I have a copy of my Photoshop so I can still design. However, my hosting site is going to be backed up because I can not link a new bank account to it as soon as I had hoped since this wonderful rebooting led to the loss of McAfee security so all my info is now more vulnerable. Once home in Boston, the week of June 20th… this laptop is going to shop. Heavily considering buying a Macbook Pro to replace it. Seriously, HP is shifty to me now after my laptop started acting as wack as funny money once the warranty on it expired in January. And my portfolio, luckily there is a back up of it on this website and some other online college submissions from what I found to be my personal best. Plus, I need to shoot and add a crazy mess of new work before I pack it all in suitcases for home. Now, the tutorial thing I am still going to do as soon as I reinstall my Photoshop this weekend and re-download the screen recording software.

My goal is to have all of this done by my birthday, JUNE 22ND – MissJanssen.com and CheckTheMentality.com first/second, then the hosting website Oh-Word. Fun times.

Too lazy to do daily updates right now. Life is a blur. Been busy trying to literally organize my life, but into suitcases. In three weeks, I will be saying goodbye to London town for a good long time. Definetely not coming back next year to continue studying fashion. If anything a trip here would be for a visit! But yes, yes. I am in a really big designing mood but am not sure how to utilize for the site. So many nooks and crannies need updating that it is kind of intimidating when I attempt to start that… end up wandering doing things like this Beyonce in Telephone blend.

BTW – The hosting site is almost up. I need to design a layout and link a new paypal account to it and it will be all set in three weeks. There are already about 10 subdomains already set up under oh-word.com. Email me if you want one asap!

So I instantly got hit with inspiration looking through the scans I have up in the resources section. Scrapped all the other ideas and went with this one. This layout really helped me take my mind off of the fashion show I had today so I worked on it last night when I should have been sleeping and as soon as I got back from the show. Anyways, Sessilee is a lovely Dominican model that I remember was featured in Latina magazine last year. I decided to Google her and her work is amazing, so it naturally came to me. This layout is kind of wild though and reminds me of the graphic designing I used to do before, very eclectic. Anyways, I am testing out screen recording software so that the tutorial section gets some much needed updates. Please be patient and write in the CBox or email me about any ideas as to what I should update or do more of. Grazie!

Besides that, I am trying to come up with new concepts for a layout. This was one idea out of like five. It wouldn’t be just a picture though. Lots of things together, can’t really explain it. Still have assignments to hand in so my full attention isn’t going to be on this site for another week at least. Sometime in the next 2 weeks you will see the final layout concept I decide to go with.

We will see how this rolls out… One more thing! Thank you to those people who are visiting every day. I was super nervous about converting this website to a more blog-based one and it is going pretty smooth. Thanks to everyone. =) Comments on the blogs are going to be indefinetely cut off. Email will be the best way to contact me. Debating adding a chat box. Hmm back to this work though! These designs will not draw themselves. Sigh.

P.S. I am trying to figure out what happened to my archives? They don’t show up as well as older entries. Gross WordPress.

Next on the agenda is…. what happened to updating this thing? hahaha That is my fault. College transfers are wrapped up but my portfolio website and hosting site are not up yet. Besides that, I have a plate full of projects to take care of and those come first since I am getting paid for them. Fashion school is expensive and I have got to pay for the cloth, pins, needles, swatches, embelishments and miscellaneous art supplies! In the end it is worth it because it will result in a fashion career eventually. Graphic designing has become a source of income for me now so I am not going to say no to a potential client. So that is what is up with thatttt.

One last thing. SOCIAL NETWORKS. NO, I do not have a Twitter. I have gotten emails about that. Reason being because I like having my life being private and will only share so much with the rest of the world. Nor do I have a MySpace though my portfolio contains a large portion of work done on there. I just know how to work with their CSS/HTML and do not have a personal account. Personal choice of mine soo yeah. I do have a Facebook but unless you want to run a search on my name, I am not going to be giving it out just yet.

01/14/2010 UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
I have realized my online portfolio has become massive and there is still more to add with all of the new work I have done so far in the past year or so that I still have yet to put up. Because of its massive size and the fact that its stretched over so many categories (Painting, Illustration, Graphic Design) I will be moving my portfolio to a new website all together, keeping it separate from CheckTheMentality.com. Also, note that because I am/have submitted the URL of my portfolio for college transfers that the portfolio will be getting my utmost attention from anywhere between two weeks and a month before I turn back to maintaining this website. Reason for this being I have already submitted a portfolio URL some places and need to work quickly.  The listing for my network of websites will be:
