Something about the Vera Wang dress above fascinates me. It is my favorite look that graced the red carpet last night. Following in ranking are Penelope Cruz in Donna Karan, Gabourey Sidibe in Marchesa, Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuillier and Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta. Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham is worth an honorable mention or rather Cyrus’ stylist should recieve praise.

Next are the penguins! Hehe. That is my name for the guys because it is known that the Academy Awards are a black and white tux plus bowtie affair. No funny stuff here. That is what the Grammys or even the VMAs are for. Anywho, here are the list of my top four with Zac Efron (unsure who he wore but one of the few who opted for a tie), Lenny Kravitz (unsure of what he wore too), Taylor Lautner in Dolce & Gabbana and Jake Gyllenhall in Burberry.

Lastly, my favorite couple of the night was Sam Worthington from Avatar with girlfriend, Natalie Mark. This is solely because of her GOWN! Not really her look… but the gown is amazing if you look at the bead work closely.

Sweating out a fever tonight and don’t want to do anything productive. Just on my laptop browsing through videos and about to watch Dane Cook: Vicious Circle. Anyways, came across this on WorldStar and thought it would be good to share. The narration is in Swedish but you can understand the jist of it. The now 46-year-old Andrea McCardle who had played Annie at the age of 14 was totally ripped off. I thought she got royalties for her voice being sampled!! Smh.

Bold colors and feathered hair. Pure wonderfulness!! Oscar de la Renta went all out with his design aesthetic and every detail possible was covered from embroidery to trim to hems and prints. It was gorgeous and reminded me of what you could have found in the wardrobe for Michelle Pfeiffer’s character in Scarface. You know as the fiesty, bitchy and overly defense Elvira that wedded Tony Montana, but dressed with the fabulousity of those women parading Fifth Avenue in the 80s. I am also very excited that he opted for some color in his collection as opposed to the other designers we have seen so far in New York Fashion Week that decided to stay in the earth tone and neutrals range. This 2009 “Future Sole” Edition of Air Jordan 1 Retro Highs are the result of the 2009 Nike Future Sole Design Competition and what inspired the title of this post. What fooled me was that I read the colorway was white, black and red before seeing them. Next thing I know when the pic comes up, I am adjusting the screen on my laptop for several minutes thinking it is to blame for me seeing a cream tone on these Jordans!! Seriously a WTF moment between my laptop and I. Turns out, the upper IS white. Reflective material was just added to the upper’s overlays to give it that look. These are not hitting retail stores though. You will have to dig through your sneaker connects far and wide to get ahold of these. To view these beauties click here.

On February 18th, 2010 from 6p – 9p the world will get to preview and purchase the “Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds” at The Upper Playground Art Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. All proceeds from this program will be donated to The American Red Cross to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Each print will be numbered and signed by Quentin Tarantino. If I was not in art school and did not have an endless amount of fabric, charcoal and paper to pay for I would dip into my pocket and purchase one, even at the steep price of $300. Sigh. To view all of the prints in this fabulous collection click here.

After missing the live webcast of Marc Jacobs‘ collection and being mad at myself for several hours over it, I anxiously waited for pictures of the collection to go up. All the buzz that had been tweeted and statused mentioned the intro which was a reveal of 56 models stashed away in a wooden box that the designer, Marc Jacobs, tore open unveiling his entire collection. Another notable fact is that the celebrities that frequent his show were nowhere in sight this time around which was a refreshing note from the norm. The collection is very soft in mellow tones of brown, gray and black with a touch of blue, yellow, silver and pearl. It was very refined and gentle but still made an impact. One thing I hope is that some of the A-line dresses once retailed, are cut a little higher because well.. everyone is not a 5′9 model with legs for miles including me. It was hard choosing my top 8 looks so I opted for 12 instead. Click the following to have a look at the entire collection.

Three/21 and Lush Life present the premiere of “Call Me”, Joell Ortiz’s latest single featuring Novel. The song and concept is about teenage love and heartbreak based in Williamsburg and South Side Brooklyn circa 1995. Now for all of you 90’s babies, this video will pretty much feel like a period piece since the height of Brooklyn in ’95 featured Smart Beepers, Eastland’s, Tommy shirts, Carhart jackets, Helly Hanson jackets, 5411’s, stretch pants, hoop earrings, scrunchies, etc.
